Top Democrat: Food Stamps, Unemployment Insurance "Most Stimulative" Things for Economy

Even in theory, liberalism doesn't make any sense.  In part, this is why liberalism has no rear view mirror - it helps the incestuous minions forget how their dystopia has never worked, but instead resulted in hundreds of millions of deaths.  Yesterday, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D - MD) boldly stated that food stamps and unemployment insurance are the "most stimulative" things that can be done for the economy.  And people somehow wonder how we're in this terrible economy?

By Hoyer's account, the more people on unemployment insurance and food stamps, the bigger boost the economy gets.  In his mind, the government is helping people out with free money that is then spent and goes into the economy.  Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has a serious mental disorder, also believed this to be true, as does White House senior Iranian, err advisor, Valerie Jarrett.  They cite phony numbers, some of which claim that for every $1 of unemployment insurance spent, it generates $1.73 for the economy.  The translation of that: bullshit.

Here's what Steny Hoyer said yesterday (h/t CNS News):

"I haven’t talked to any who are of that mind," said Hoyer. "If you talk to economists, they will tell you there are two things that are the most stimulative that you can do -- one’s unemployment insurance, the other’s food stamps, okay?”

“Why is that?” he said.  “Because those folks who receive those resources must spend them. And they’ll spend them almost upon receipt. Most economists with whom I talk believe that those with significant discretionary income, that that’s not the case.”

This is how liberals think.  They don't mention that the money for unemployment is being taken from something else, but more importantly, that getting a job provides an individual with much more income, which has such a stronger impact on the economy.  But this is liberalism.  They want to create a state of dependency on the government.  Therefore, reducing unemployment is not a primary focus because the government can solve everybody's problems!

And when it comes to food stamps, it's only logical to think this program has expanded - now one in seven Americans are on food stamps - as a way to ensure votes this fall.  The class of zero liability voters needs to get expanded by Democrats, which food stamps help achieve.

What we do know is that nothing replaces having a job and being able to purchase your own food without government assistance.  Food stamps and unemployment insurance redistribute wealth; it takes money from one person and gives it to another, which reduces that person's ability to invest, spend or do whatever they'd like with that money.

Wealth redistribution has never been a successful economic model.  But this is why liberals refuse to look at history.  What can be said is this: if America's future is under Obama's control, where food stamps and unemployment insurance is viewed as an ecomonic stimulus, we are seriously fucked.
