The Drudge Report is a popular conservative website that aggregates news links, often with headlines that are critical of Democrats. With the site being very critical of the undocumented President Obama and his health care agenda, it should come at no surprise that the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms sent out an email warning members on Capital Hill to avoid visiting the Drudge Report claiming they "are responsible for the many viruses popping up throughout the Senate." Although this is false, it certainly questions the liberal motivation to limit free speech.
Senator Jim Inhofe (R - OK) wasn't convinced by the email.
"I suspect somebody was trying to make it look as if there's a virus there to discourage people from using Drudge. Then, somehow, I guess someone in the Capital got a hold of it and said, yes, we're advising you not to use it."
It's no secret that the liberals on Capital Hill and in the Obama administration want to reinstate the so-called Fairness Doctrine, so it makes this story all the more interesting. The Drudge Report is one of the most visited sites on the internet and it most certainly wasn't the source of a virus to the more than 28 million pageviews it recorded on Monday.
President Obama is making his final health care push this week and needs all the support he can get - he needs to silence the opposition to force his agenda through Congress. Just today, the radical political arm of Obama, Organizing for America, sent an email to its Brown Shirts that included a list of talking points for members to print and share with their acquaintances. The Tea Party movement and conservatives are his enemies, especially right now, and falsely claiming that Drudge is the cause of viruses plays right into his socialistic agenda.
