Obama in Super Bowl Interview: "I Deserve a Second Term"

E-mail Print PDF

In what has now been a tradition created by the Obama White House, President Obama sat down for an interview yesterday before the Super Bowl.  While families and friends gathered to enjoy an American tradition, they also got a heavy dose of politics.  Last year, the interview was with FOX News' Bill O'Reilly, which was heavily promoted by the network, partially because Obama wasn't asked softball questions.  This year, with the Super Bowl being showed on NBC, Matt Lauer threw the president some softballs, and some of his answers were quite telling.  When asked whether he deserved a second term, Obama declared, "I deserve a second term."  Despite his horrendous policies that have killed hundreds of thousands of jobs, Obama believes he deserves another chance.  But there's more.

The response that Obama believes he deserves a second term is how liberals are wired: they believe they deserve everything.  It's part of their entitlement, utopian philosophy that everyone should be equal; that the have's should give to the have not's.  Obama's philosophy is what turned a recession into a Depression.

However, where the interview really got interesting was when Lauer asked about the American people being disappointed with the president.  President Obama's response wasn't a secret, but it certainly didn't seem that he would willingly let the American people know that he doesn't like the American political system because of the checks and balances that the Founder's put in place.  Here's the transcript:

Matt Lauer, NBC: I have talked to so many people over the last couple years, President Obama, who were huge supporters of yours in 2008. And today they are not sure. I hear more and more that they're disappointed in you. That you aren't the transformational political figure that they hoped you would be. How does that make you feel when you hear that?

President Barack Obama: I think this is the nature of being President. What's frustrated people is that I have not been able to force Congress to implement every aspect of what I said in 2008.  Well, it turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change that I would like sometimes. But what I have been able to do is move in the right direction. And what I'm going to keep on doing is plot away, very persistent. You know what? One of the things about being President is you get better as time goes on.

Yes, President Obama, you were not elected to be America's dictator.  It's absolutely incredible that Obama would make such a statement; he truly believes he should have dictatorial powers.  It's clear that Obama has contempt for the American political system, which is beyond disturbing.

And there you have it.  Our president thinks he deserves a second term, not that he's earned a second term, and that he should have the power to force Congress to do what he wants, just like a totalitarian regime.  Those two responses should be a friendly reminder why we must make Barack Hussein Obama a one-term president.
