Obama Pledged to Veto Attempts to Undo Medicare Cuts in Obamacare

With Mitt Romney announcing Congressman Paul Ryan (R - WI) as his running mate, the Obama campaign has pushed hard with their propaganda to smear a very likeable guy.  This is what campaigns do when they have nothing to run on: they use fear, lies and propaganda to scare people into voting for them.  Their latest tactic includes lies that Romney would "end Medicare as we know it" in an attempt to scare seniors.  Actually, it's the radical-in-chief that's gutted Medicare by $700 billion to fund Obamacare.

The issue of Medicare is something that liberals and the elite media consistently lie about solely to scare seniors.  It's a way to solidify votes, when, in fact, it's the Democratic Party that wants to destroy Medicare, and with Obamacare, that's already been put in place.  Obamacare guts over $700 billion from Medicare to pay for the government takeover of the health care system.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan aren't running on Ryan's budget, which had the support of Ron Wyden, a liberal nut job.  In Romney's budget, which brings government spending down to 20% of the GDP by 2016, it doesn't touch Medicare, whereas Ryan's budget put the cuts to Medicare imposed in Obamacare back into Medicare's future solvency.  These are STARK DIFFERENCES and the Obama campaign is doing everything in their power to distract from this.

To show how real the cuts to Medicare are in Obamacare, the President himself was interviewed in 2009 while the bill was in the midst of getting rammed into law.  He told ABC's Jake Tapper that any attempt to undo the Medicare cuts would get vetoed.  Why?  Because the cuts funde 1/3 of Obamacare!  Here's the comment and transcript:

As Democrats attack Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan for their proposals regarding Medicare, Republicans are circulating this clip from a November 9, 2009 interview we had with President Obama in which he not only acknowledged that one third of his health care bill was paid for by cuts to Medicare, but that he would veto attempts to undo those cuts.

TAPPER: One of the concerns about health care and how you pay for it — one third of the funding comes from cuts to Medicare.

PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: “Right.

TAPPER: A lot of times, as you know, what happens in Congress is somebody will do something bold and then Congress, close to election season, will undo it.

OBAMA: Right.

TAPPER: You saw that with the ‘doc fix.’

OBAMA: Right.

TAPPER: Are you willing to pledge that whatever cuts in Medicare are being made to fund health insurance, one third of it, that you will veto anything that tries to undo that?

OBAMA: Yes. I actually have said that it is important for us to make sure this thing is deficit neutral, without tricks. I said I wouldn’t sign a bill that didn’t meet that criteria. The full transcript of the interview can be read here.

The elite media has proven they are not a reliable source of factual information, so we can only hope that freedom-loving Americans spread the word and that there aren't enough idiots that fall for the 1930's style propaganda that's orchastrated by the Obama campaign.
