House Democrats Vote to Uphold Slaughter Rule; Mark Levin Prepares Lawsuit

E-mail Print PDF

By a vote of 222 to 203, House Democrats voted to uphold the usage of the "self-executing rule," also known as the Slaughter Solution.  This further validates that Obama, Pelosi and the Democrats will to anything to pass this health care bill, even if it is unconstitutional and just plain shady.  The undocumented President Obama has made it clear time and again that he doesn't care about the process - he just wants it passed, no matter the consequences.  And there will be consequences.

The Slaughter Solution "deems" the Senate bill passed without the House ever having cast a vote, while they vote separately on a reconciliation measure.  Pelosi wants this done so the American people wont' be able to see who actually voted for the bill - she wants to shield her Congressional allies from their constituents who are mad as hell about their representatives not listening to the people.

This method is unconstitutional based on Article 1 Section 7 of the Constitution.  Mark Levin of the Landmark Legal Foundation, an actual Constitutional lawyer and just a guy who taught a class on the Constitution so he could get paid and run for office like Obama, is prepared to sue as soon as this measure is used should it come to that.  Levin lists President Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, Treasury Secretary Tim Geitner and other creepy cabinet members in the lawsuit.

Pelosi, speaking after being all botoxed up, "deemed this as a non-issue." This is because she'll do anything to pass the bill.  Democrats are proving that only certain rules apply to them and only when they want them to apply.  Their actions defeat the purpose of having any sort of process or governing body.  They're acting like a dictatorship with no regard to anything other than their own radical personal agenda.

If this bill passes, there will be a level of anger in America never seen before.

Jimmy  - Many disagree..... |2010-03-19 09:39:16
And that's a fact. There are many legal scholars who think the same tactic Republicans have used many times. Article 7 Section 1 does not prohibit deem and pass.

Jimmy - you are in fact correct. But what you conveniently left out was that the Slaughter Solution has NEVER been used to take over 18% of the economy.

It's a little bit different when Congress uses this measure to nominate the town dog catcher versus nationalizing the health care industry. Nice try, though. Just stick the talking points and you'll be fine!

Mark:
Last night my parents called me and told them they had received a letter from their family doctor that he was no longer taking medicare patients. It has begun.
God help the USA! We will unite and fight this President to the bitter end.

Yesterday,March 18, my doctor informed me he would no longer take any new patients with medicare. These doctors have been cut so much now, it is not worth it to take medicare. This on top of a bill that will cut 500B from the program among many things. Try getting a specialist in the future when you have a real problem. They will probably first send you to a nurse practitioner while you wait 6 mos plus for a doctor because of a shortage and no new doctors. You will have to hope it's not too late.Just one aspect among many. Want to take about R and D (we will have been the leaders).Or...

Never did Republicans use this tactic on any issue that is as life altering as this will be to the American public. As a former nurse, the Dr. I worked for on one of the very well known campus's in America told me in the 90's when this came up under the Clintons, as she had worked in Europe and under this same health care system 'America does not want this type of health care. She worked there and knew first hand. The lack of care one gets most usually is critical to ones health and the gov't determines what that will be. The one thing I agreed with Mr. Gore on was that we do not need 'bean counters' deciding our health care. The cost is not workable and the plan should be revised by at least the help, with the majority of those in the medical field. We need change but not this!!!

Who cares about health care insurance when you trample the constitution to get it...I would rather die than lose my freedom. I am a pre- existing condition, cancer survivor...I would rather face death than live forever under the thumb of a socialist government. These Senators have sold out for a a few dollars a few deals but they have lost sight of the greater picture...This government was founded by the people for the people..not special interest lobbyists. I will see you in November.
Keith  - Good article, but... |2010-03-19 19:15:53
...I think you meant Article 1 Section 7. Article 7 has to do with how the constitution will be ratified, namely that it needs the approval of 9 of the 13 states. Article 1 outlines the rules of the legislature, and Section 7 specifies in short that budget bills will originate in the house of representatives.

I was amused by the comments that quote the misstatement.

If this passes by using the "Slaughter Solution"
than I think its time for Americans to pick up there arms- draw a line in the sand - and fight it out. These people are absolutely evil and need to be stop. The President and are Repersenitives in DC take an oath to uphold the US Constitution just like the Police, FBI and Military ect., if they abuse the constitution they are brought up on charges( there are hundreds examples), The President and Reps in DC abuse the constitution with this "Slaughter Solution" Than the Police ,FBI. Or the MILITARY should admeditly arrest the President and are Repersentives . If they don't arrest them it is time for A REVOLUTION . THATS RIGHT THE R_ WORD. THIS HAS TO BE AN UP OR DOWN VOTE........ FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE.....NOT FOR SPECIAL INTEREST

The jennie has been let out of the bottle , you cant put it back. The us should become not the north and the south but of east and west. BY 2050 the west will be hispanic nationalists rather than americans with spanish heritage. The east will be dominated by eitests, politicians and their voting constichuency. The inner west will be the last bastion of conservative America. Yes we will kick but in November but eventually Hispanics in illinois alone are 1 out of every two born, born democrats that is.

This reconciliation tactic has only been used during the budget process. It has never been used to make law and, as anonymous said,it has never been used to take over 1/6th of our economy. I pray that this piece of crap will be overturned by the SC. It is a clear violation of Article 1 Section 7 of the Constitution. All who voted this way should be thrown in jail. I am with Michael. I believe this country is on its way to another war inside our borders. We will drive the progressives out like we drove the British. Obama is pure evil.

:angry-red: This is without a doubt the most unconstitutional piece of crap that Fed has ever tried to saddle the American people with.
We need do anything we can to Block or have this thing repealed. Where do I donate ?.
The Cannot pass a bill without voting on it. That is Horse -!%@$. Vote them all out in November.
